• OVERVIEW

  PGCS were appointed by Thurrock Borough Council to provide a full Structural and Civil Engineering design service on this prestigious development in Tilbury Docks. The Riverside Business Centre, was the first of a number of developments to be constructed on reclaimed land, to the east of Fort Road, behind the sea wall.

  During the development of this hi-tech scheme, a full and comprehensive ground investigation was commissioned to determine what, if any, contamination existed and what foundations were suitable. This resulted in the design of a complex piled foundation system, with the superstructure being a structural steel frame in three blocks with precast concrete ground and first floors.

• The client wished for some high bay units and others with intermediate floors to give a mix of usage, i.e. small workshops and offices.

  All buildings have been fair-faced finished internally and externally to allow tenants to introduce their own finishes.
