    PGCS were appointed as specialist temporary works design engineers to provide workable design solutions associated with this substantial Victorian property in London.

    The house, extending to 5 upper floors, underwent complete redevelopment. The roof and all floors including the existing basement level were removed leaving only the external walls in place.

    New basements excavated to the front and rear of the existing basement were lowered. With the foot print covering the entire front garden, a substantial length and the full width of the of the rear garden.

    The new basement structure is bored piled foundations with pile caps and ground beams with slabs formed to caltite concrete construction, as are the new basement retaining walls.

    The rear wall was removed at basement level as well as the ground floor rear wall will leaving only a central brick pier. Other existing openings to front and rear were be enlarged.
