• OVERVIEW

  This development consisted of three differing types of dwellings;

  • (1) three-storey new build flats over existing basement areas;
  • (2) houses for both private and housing association
  • (3) refurbishment and alteration of a large 120 year classroom block into flats

  All structures were traditional building, ie: masonry and timber floors, except the flats which had concrete floors.

• The interesting aspect of the development was the school block conversion into flats with the introduction of intermediate floors and in particular retaining the original clock tower insitu, and removing the original supports to facilitate a mezzanine floor all carried out in structural steel.
