• OVERVIEW

  The school employed Thomas Sinden Construction to build a single storey-dining hall and kitchen area to provide facilities to the existing school. The building has a large clear span with a high vaulted ceiling to accommodate services.

  The structural solution for the superstructure was to integrate steel portal frames at regular centres along the length of the building to create the necessary open plan spaces dictated by the architectural design.

  Complex roof geometry, large connection forces and numerous existing services were overcome on this project by careful co-ordination with project architect. Foundations were designed taking into account existing trees, drainage and a high voltage cable crossing the site.
